St Albans Cathedral Wedding Photographer | Hertfordshire
Lizzie and Joe had their big wedding at St Albans Cathedral on the 14th of August 2021. They chose The Lady Chapel, a very beautiful, intimate part of the cathedral to get married in. I have to say it was great to have a full church for a change !!
Initially, I met with Lizzie and Joe at the The Holly Bush in Potters Crouch St Albans. They loved discussing all their plans with me from getting married at St Albans Cathedral to celebrating with all their nearest and dearest in a marquee set up in the garden of the quaint Holly Bush pub. Naturally, Lizzie chose the chapel as she works at St Albans Cathedral.
Their Ceremony in the Lady Chapel
After spending the morning at home with her bridesmaids and family, Lizzie was wisked off to St Albans Cathedral in a gorgeous vintage Volkswagen Beetle with her dad by her side.
On arrival at the church her bridesmaids were ready to do all her final hair and dress tweaks. Lizzie’s dress was made by her mum, how special is that! I have to say she looked absolutely stunning.
The light on Lizzie’s dress as she entered through the Lady Chapel door was simply out of this world. It reminded me of the film “Girl with a pearl earring” and complimented Lizzie’s classic beauty perfectly. Even a young Audrey Hepburn springs to mind.
Needless to say, Joe was blown away when he saw her approaching.
Celebrations in the garden of the Holly Bush Pub
Once all the anticipation and anxiety of getting married were over they celebrated with their family and friends at 17th century The Holly Bush Pub tucked away in the idyllic hamlet of Potters Crouch, nr St Albans.
They were greeted by their guests with drinks and canapes in the enchanting pub garden. Blue skies and glorious sunshine made their wedding day celebration just perfect. Not to forget Harry, the resident ginger cat who added some attitude.
