St Albans Wedding Photographer | Hertfordshire
Elyse and Rohan had a very beautiful, intimate wedding at the St Albans Register Office on 30 April 2021. They chose to celebrate their day with just a few close friends. Both their families live abroad and couldn’t be in the UK due to all the Covid regulations. Luckily Covid did not stand in their way of getting married.
Initially, I met up with Elyse and Rohan at the Brocket Arms in Ayot St Lawrence. We discussed all their wedding plans over a lovely lunch. If distance isn’t an issue I always aim to meet my couples in person before their wedding day. By doing this we get to know each other and they feel far more relaxed in front of my camera when their big day arrives.
As always, I arrived early and just felt like walking around the lovely gardens to get some ideas for Elyse and Rohan’s portraits.
Eventually when they arrived, I jumped straight in taking photos of the gorgeous couple. After a few giggles with their friends we made our way inside. I managed to capture some lovely natural photos during their ceremony. Thank goodness for all the amazing window light. Luckily, Elyse and Rohan didn’t have to wear masks which was an absolute blessing, especially as facial expressions are so important to capture on a wedding day.
Elyse was wearing a stunning fitted, off the shoulder wedding dress. She even made her own bouquet with an exotic assortment of pink flowers. It looked absolutely stunning and really professionally made. Her mum sent her the most amazing earrings that definitely needed to be the star of the show in some of the photos. Please see below.
Fun photos in the garden
Elyse And Rohan wanted their photos taken at the registry office after their ceremony as they planned on heading into London for a celebration lunch at The Orrery in Marylebone. They liked the fact that St Albans Register Office is an attractive Victorian building set in a lovely garden. I found various beautiful spots for their couple photos. They walked up and down the garden for walking photos, sat on a pretty garden bench and posed in front of majestic wooden gates.
