Worcestershire Wedding Photographer | Stanbrook Abbey
Kira and David were so lucky to have their wonderful wedding on 7 March 2020. Weddings, as we know them, have not really been happening since Covid. Their wedding brings back wonderful memories of normal times.
I first met Kira at The National Wedding Show in Birmingham. She loved my photos and albums and it wasn’t long after when she and David decided to make their booking.
As I wasn’t familiar with Stanbrook Abbey Hotel I thought it would be a good idea to meet Kira there the day before the wedding to discuss all their ideas, run through their itinerary and hunt for beautiful photo spots. Stanbrook Abbey is a luxury hotel set in 26 acres of beautiful Worcestershire countryside. A grade two listed former monastery where history and modern living fit seamlessly together. I just knew this would be the perfect backdrop for their wedding and I couldn’t wait capturing their wedding day.
Kira’s morning began in one of the magnificent suites of Stanbrook Abbey. When I arrived she was already in the capable hands of her make-up artist, Nicky Foster. Her immaculately draped Lula Ann Bridal wedding dress, by Ronald Joyce set the tone for a day of opulence. Not to mention her pretty Aruna Seth shoes. Shoes are my personal favourite and Kira’s wedding shoes are my all time favourite!!
I had a wonderful time capturing all her special moments with her beautiful mum and very elegant bridesmaids. Leon, my husband and second photographer, spent the morning with David and his groomsmen in the beautifully wood panelled Groom’s Room. A little early morning Whisky helped to calm their nerves and relax in front of the camera.
Kira and David had their hearts set on tying the knot in the breathtaking, historic Callow Great Hall featuring stunning Pugin architecture. They had two consecutive ceremonies. First a registry ceremony followed by a truly beautiful Christian ceremony and blessing. With all the stressful and serious bits out of the way it was time for confetti and celebration.
I whisked Kira and David off for a 20 min fun-filled portrait session in the Lavender Gardens and Callow Great Hall.
Later, we saw the tallest, most spectacular wedding cake I have ever seen which the bride made herself! Unbeknown to me Kira, creates spectacular wedding cakes for her own clients in her spare time. So, needless to say her creation was jaw dropping and gorgeous.
Reception and Party
The spacious garden pavilion marquee was the perfect setting for their wedding breakfast and evening party and what a fantastic party it was. All the guests where on the dance floor at one time or another and I was in the middle of all the fun.
